BEAM-Jubiläum mit OB Würzner

10 Years of “Beam”

BEAM-Jubiläum mit OB Würzner
On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the seminar course "BEAM" of the EI, led by Mr. Haschler and Mrs. Schuler, together with the courses of the Hölderlin Gymnasium and Heidelberg College, celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Beam Alumni Network. BEAM, standing for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Mathematics, was founded ten years ago in the USA by Christina Florea. It quickly gained international recognition and was able to establish itself here in Heidelberg as well. Accordingly, the number of visitors was large. In addition to the many students, Oberbürgermeister Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, Morgan Slain, a Silicon Valley investor, City Councillor Anke Schuster (SPD), and numerous parents were also guests. The program included a "Track & Talk" with Christina and Morgan, moderated by Donata von Achten, followed by a presentation from former EI student Daniel von Maydell about the founding of his Social Peak GmbH and how BEAM helped him build his company. Afterwards, there was lively discussion and many conversations, during which the individual start-ups could present their ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. After some time, unfortunately, this beautiful evening had to come to an end, and the closing words belonged to the host, the Collegium Academicum. The seminar course would like to thank all organizers and participants. A wonderful evening will remain in memory for some time, and the anticipation for the next event is great.
